Why is the Adolescent’s safety important?
When you are in your young, your immune system can easily be attacked. If there is a weaker immune system in the initial age of growing up then you are prone to a chronic condition very easily in adulthood. Hence, it becomes important to keep in mind that adolescent’s safety needs to the priority of the people in the family.
As per the WHO report, “More than 3000 adolescents die every day, totaling 1.2 million deaths a year, from largely preventable causes, according to a new report from WHO and partners.
In 2015, more than two-thirds of these deaths occurred in low- and middle-income countries in Africa and South-East Asia. Road traffic injuries, lower respiratory infections, and suicide are the biggest causes of death among adolescents.”
The report also adds that it is because “Most of these deaths can be prevented with good health services, education, and social support. But in many cases, adolescents who suffer from mental health disorders, substance use, or poor nutrition cannot obtain critical prevention and care services – either because the services do not exist, or because they do not know about them.”

Answering the above question in more detail we have some of the reasons listed as under. This will help you to understand why it is important that adolescent’s safety is really important.
1) Injuries
The usual injuries of the growing years can lead to severe conditions in the future. If your adolescent has hurt him or her self, it is time you take action. This can be the reason for them suffering from problems in the future! It does make adolescent’s safety important. In the WHO report, “Unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death and disability among adolescents. In 2016, over 135 000 adolescents died as a result of road traffic accidents.”
2) Sexual Health
This is the time when these younglings start to hit puberty. They face a lot of change in their life. If you do not take care of them at this moment, they might face severe difficulties in the future.
As per the NCBI report, “Between 1995 and 2007, there was a steady decline in the percentages of both girls (from 51.7 to 46.8 percent) and boys (from 55.3 percent to 46.0 percent) reporting that they had had sexual intercourse (Abma et al., 2004). These rates parallel declines in the rates of teen pregnancy or having caused a pregnancy”.

Building life skills in children and adolescents and providing them with psychosocial support in schools and other community settings can help promote good mental health.

It says ” Some 11% of all births worldwide are to girls aged 15–19 years, and the vast majority of these births are in low- and middle-income countries. The UN Population Division puts the global adolescent birth rate in 2018 at 44 births per 1000 girls this age – country rates range from 1 to over 200 births per 1000 girls (1). This indicates a marked decrease since 1990. This decrease is reflected in a similar decline in maternal mortality rates among 15–19-year-olds.”
