The United Nations Disability Inclusion Strategy provides the foundation for sustainable and transformative progress on disability inclusion through all pillars of the work of the United Nations.
Through the Strategy, the United Nations system will make sure that the full and complete realization of the human rights of all persons with disabilities is a known subject matter to everyone. It is an integral and indivisible part of all human rights and fundamental freedoms.
All people have different health conditions at some time in their lives. What makes the difference is that most of the time your health impairment doesn’t stop you from functioning, being included or participating in your community.
The most important part of this day celebration is to improve the understandings of people worldwide towards people with disability issues. It is also that as we get together to support them to improve their self-esteem, well-being, and rights in society. It also looks to involve all the persons with disabilities in the society in each facet of life such as political, economic, social and cultural.
That’s why it is celebrated by the title of “International Day of Disabled Persons”. Every year celebration of the international day of disabled persons focuses on the different issues of disabled persons all across the world.
Hence on this International Day of Disabled Persons, we hope and wish that no obstacle can defeat the spirit. We will strive to make sure that no man on this face of the earth is deprived of anything. Disabilities are not a way to stop you from the challenges in life. We can always see the silver lining!
