24th March of every year is celebrated as World Tuberculosis Day to spread the public awareness<\/a> regarding calamitous health, consequences of TB and to boost up the efforts to end up the epidemic of this severe condition. In 1982, Dr. Robert Koch developed the bacterium which causes Tuberculosis which in turn made the diagnosis<\/a> and its cure way easier.<\/p>\n

Why World Tuberculosis Day is Celebrated?<\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

Unfortunately, TB is a leading cause which is killing a huge number of the population annually<\/a>. Approximately 4500 people die each day due to this Dangerous disease<\/a> and around 30,000 people fall ill with this pestilence. According to a survey, 54 million people are saved since 2000 and there is around 42% decrease in the number of people who suffer from TB.<\/p>\n

Heads of State joined hands and made strong engagements to end TB at the first-ever UN High-Level Meeting in September 2018. The theme for this year’s World Tuberculosis Day is ‘It’s Time’. It represents the urgency and desperate of the leaders to work upon the commitments made by them. Some of their commitments are:<\/p>\n

1. Provide proper prevention and treatment<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2. Frame liability<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

3. Ensure sufficient and sustainable financing including for research<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

4. Promote an end to stigma and discrimination<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

5. Promote an equitable, rights-based and people-centered TB response<\/p>\n

The theme of World Tuberculosis Day 2019 is “Its Time……”, emphasizes on instant and quick steps to fight with the consequences and effects of TB. The organization is ready to take every possible measure in making the world TB free. Here are some of the theme:<\/p>\n
