It is to make sure there inclusive, equitable and sustainable development as anticipated in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This is in order to \u2018leave no one behind\u2019 and recognizes disability as a cross-cutting issue, to be considered in the implementation of its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Disability is referenced in various parts of the SDGs and specifically in parts related to education, growth, and employment, inequality, accessibility of human settlements, as well as data collection and monitoring of the SDGs.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n On 11 June 2019, Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres launched the United Nations Disability Inclusion Strategy in line with his commitment to make the United Nations an inclusive organization for all.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The United Nations Disability Inclusion Strategy provides the foundation for sustainable and transformative progress on disability inclusion through all pillars of the work of the United Nations.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Through the Strategy, the United Nations system will make sure that the full and complete realization of the human rights of all persons with disabilities is a known subject matter to everyone. It is an integral and indivisible part of all human rights and fundamental freedoms.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n All people have different health conditions at some time in their lives. What makes the difference is that most of the time your health impairment doesn\u2019t stop you from functioning, being included or participating in your community.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The most important part of this day celebration is to improve the understandings of people worldwide towards people with disability issues. It is also that as we get together to support them to improve their self-esteem, well-being, and rights in society. It also looks to involve all the persons with disabilities in the society in each facet of life such as political, economic, social and cultural.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n That\u2019s why it is celebrated by the title of \u201cInternational Day of Disabled Persons\u201d.
