We usually hear the term diabetes<\/a> which is very common now a day. Every third person across the world is suffering from diabetes. In my personal experience, one of my aunts is also suffering from the same disease. Let us talk and know more about the types of diabetes.<\/p>\n

What is Diabetes?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Diabetes is a disease or a condition that occurs when your blood sugar or blood glucose, is too high. Blood glucose is the main source of energy for a body and comes from the food that a person eats. Insulin, a peptide hormone produced by beta cells of the pancreas, that helps glucose from the food then get into the body cells to be used for energy. Sometimes the body doesn\u2019t make enough or any insulin which is required in the body. Glucose then stays in the blood and doesn\u2019t reach the cells.<\/p>\n

When the blood glucose level increases in the body it may cause health problems. Although diabetes has no cure, a person can take steps to manage diabetes and stay healthy.<\/p>\n

    1. Type 1 diabetes: <\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition only happens when the immune system mistakenly destroys and attacks the beta cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. This type of damage is permanent.<\/p>\n

    The factors involved in the damage may be genetic and environmental components. Lifestyle agents aren\u2019t thought to play a role.<\/p>\n

    2. Type 2 diabetes:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Type 2 diabetes begins as insulin resistance which means that the body can\u2019t use insulin efficiently. The conditions demand the pancreas to produce more insulin. This decline in insulin production leads to high blood sugar.<\/p>\n

    The exact cause of the type 2 diabetes is unknown. but few factors include genetics, being overweight, and lack of exercise. There may also be other environmental reasons or health factors.<\/p>\n

    3. Gestational diabetes:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Gestational diabetes appeared due to insulin-blocking hormones produced during pregnancy. During pregnancy, the placenta produces hormones that can lead to an increase the glucose level in the blood.<\/p>\n

    4. Other types of diabetes:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Less common types include cystic fibrosis-related diabetes and monogenic diabetes, an inherited form of diabetes.<\/p>\n
