Doctors are considered as like God in our country India and we have a good reason for the same. Though even today, we have doctors who are not only ethical and hard-working. However, we have so many doctors who actually understand the value of the life of the patient as well as the value of the profession that they have chosen. Doctors work very hard and they do long hours shifts to give the treatment of the patient, but sometimes we do not take care of their efforts and blames them and misbehave with them for the mishappening, where the doctor is not responsible for the same.
There were some incidents happen around us, which make us feel ashamed. A doctor has been beaten brutally by the group of around 200 people after the passing away of an elder person of age 75.
Similarly, in Bihar, A News reporter of a well-known news channel harass a doctor who is treating the patient in ICU within very fewer resources. This kind of incidents should not happen doctors work harder to save lives that why we called him like as GOD.

Doctors save lives, but their importance goes far beyond that. Doctors also make a difference by helping patients minimize pain, recover from a disease faster or learn to live with a disabling injury. A patient’s ability to enjoy life, even if they can’t be cured, makes a huge difference to them and to their families. If they can go back to work after an illness, that benefits their employer, too.
In India, the 1st of July is observed as Doctor’s Day. It is celebrated to focus the value that doctors hold in our lives and this day is meant to pay them respect for their selfless service.
Not just doctors, this day is also celebrated to commemorate the medical industry and its advancements. Doctors’ efforts in giving treatment to the betterment of people’s lives through technology have been relentless in India and this day is celebrated to marks those accomplishments.
Why Doctor’s Day is Celebrated?
Doctor’s Day is celebrated on different dates in different countries around the world. In India, it is celebrated on July 1 due to the birth and death anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy (Dr. B C Roy), one of the most famous physicians of India.
It was started by the Government of India in the year 1991 to mark respect for the great physician.

In other countries, the Doctor’s day is celebrated on different days, like in Brazil, it is celebrated on October 18, while in the US, it is celebrated on 30th March.
The symbol of Doctor’s Day is a red carnation because the flower stands for love, charity, selflessness and sacrifice, traits that a doctor must hold.
The first ever Doctor’s Day was observed in the year 1933 on March 30 in the US state of Georgia. It involved sending cards to physicians and placing flowers on the graves of dead doctors.
