What are the Types of Hormonal Birth Control?
Here, 4 types of hormonal birth control such as:
- Birth control pills: These may contain both estrogen and progestin, or only progestin.
- Insert implants: Implants refers to a small rod which implanted beneath the skin. Implants release a continuous dose of hormone to prevent ovulation.
- Injections: Progestin injections, like Depo-Provera, which are given into the muscles of the upper arm or buttocks once every 3 months.
- Vaginal Ring: The vaginal ring is also known as NuvaRing. It is a flexible ring about 2 inches (5 centimeters) wide. It is placed into the vagina and releases the hormones progestin and estrogen.

It prevents unplanned pregnancies, including those of older women who face increased risks related to pregnancy.

It prevents closely spaced and ill-timed pregnancies and births, which contribute to some of the world’s highest infant mortality rates. Infants of mothers who die of giving birth also have a higher risk of death and poor health.
3.Prevent HIV/AIDS
Family planning decreases the risk of accidental or unplanned pregnancies among women living with HIV, resulting in fewer infected babies and orphans. Also, female and male condoms provide dual protection against unplanned pregnancies and against STIs including HIV.

4. Empowering People And Promoting Education
Family planning enables people to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health. It represents an opportunity for women to pursue additional education and participate in public life, including paid employment in non-family organizations. 5. Reducing Adolescent Pregnancies
Young adults are more likely to have preterm or low birth-weight babies. There are many adolescent girls who become pregnant have to leave school. This has long-term implications for them as individuals, their families, and communities.

Planning a family is key to slowing expandable population growth and the resulting negative impacts on the environment, economy, and national and regional development efforts.
