What Is A Medical Visa?

Before knowing everything about medical visas to Turkey from Nigeria, let’s brush up on a medical visa. We are sure you would know about it already, but there’s no harm in getting a few things cleared.

A target country issues a medical visa to a person from the origin country visiting the target country for treatment. There are various types of medical visas, like:

  1. Medical Visa (MED) – This visa is issued to international medical travelers for medical consultation or treatment by the Turkish consulate or embassy.
  2. E-Medical Visa – It is an online facility for eligible countries that can be obtained using the Turkish government’s online visa system.
  3. Visa on Arrival (VoA) – It is a facility where the travellers do not need to apply for a visa beforehand as it can be obtained upon arrival at designated Turkish ports.
If a traveler has the option of applying for either an eVisa or a VoA, then it is best to choose the eVisa option. For instance, by applying for an eVisa in advance, one will not be in the awkward position of traveling all the way only to be denied a VoA since he has forgotten to carry important documents.
