What is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome?
Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), also known as crib death or cot death, it is the sudden unexplained death of a child less than one year of age. Sudden infant death syndrome usually occurs when the baby is sleeping. There is usually no evidence of a struggle and no noise produced during the death process.

The main causes of sudden infant death syndrome are unknown but doctors have given some ideas regarding its causes such as some babies have changes in a gene that cause certain health problems followed by SIDS.
But some babies are born with some disabilities in the brain that helps in controlling breathing, blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and waking from sleep.
Mainly the abnormalities are the main cause of the sudden death. Researchers also find some important measures that could the reason for death but placing your baby to sleep on his or her back can minimize the risk of SIDS. A combination of sleeping environment and physical factors could be the reason sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
These conditions vary from child to child and associated factors include brain abnormalities, low birth weight, and low heart rate.

Can You Prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome?
Yes, there are lots of easy things which can help parents to prevent their child from SIDS including;
1. Put your baby on her back to sleep-
Usually back sleeping help your child to sleep safer and comfortably.
2. Choose a firm, flat surface for child’s bed-
Always try to make a comfortable sleeping area for your baby. Avoid the use of pillow and blankets until the child is one year old.
3. Sleep in the same room, but not in the same bed-
We know that all parents love their child a lot but, you can sleep with your child in the same room but not in same bed.
4. Keep the baby cool while he/she is sleeping-
Do not overdress your baby while they are sleeping. Provide them a comfortable environment for sleeping.
