National Nutrition Week 2019, In India we celebrate this week each year from 1st September to the 7th September to spread the awareness about the importance of their health and well-being by providing them tips to stay healthy. By the various national nutrition week campaign, people not only in India but all over the world can get educated to maintain their look and feel better.

History of National Nutrition Week
For the first time campaign was started by the central government in 1982 for the encouragement of good health and healthy living through nutrition education because the malnutrition is the major obstruction to the National Development. To encourage the people for the same, the Food and Nutrition Board including 43 units is working all over the country to maneuver the activities.

Vitamin A:
It is very important for our eyes, general growth and development as well as glowing skin. These vitamins are found in sweet potatoes carrots and oranges.
Vitamin B:
These vitamins are essential for improved immunity, iron absorption, and production of energy. Unprocessed foods and whole grains and vegetables like potatoes, lentils, yeast, bananas, and molasses are the great sources of vitamin B.
Vitamin C:
It is essential for blood clotting, iron absorption, elastic skin, and antioxidant function. A good amount of vitamin C is generally found in citrus fruits, guava, kiwi, grapefruits, strawberries, etc.
Vitamin D:
The highly essential element for bone development, which is usually found in eggs, mushrooms, and fish.
Vitamin E:
Vitamin E is used to improves blood circulation and reduces free radicals, that are used for cancer protection. The great source of vitamin E are Almonds, nuts, tomatoes, and sunflower seeds.

Vitamin K:
It is very essential for the process of blood coagulation, these are found in spinach, broccoli, kale, and other green vegetables.
Iron:
Iron is very essential for blood formation as well as muscle building. Clams, soybeans, oysters, lentils, and spinach are great sources of iron.
Calcium:
For the formation of teeth and bones calcium is the most essential product. It found in dairy products, tofu, and cheese.
Zinc:
It is a key ingredient for overall growth, immunity, and fertility. Spinach, beans, oysters and dark chocolate contains a good amount of Zinc.
Folic Acid:
It is essential for the absorption of iron, cell regeneration, and in pregnancy for the healthy development of the baby. Green leafy vegetables, peas, asparagus, seeds, nuts, lentils, beets, corn, etc. are good sources of folic acid.
Minerals such as manganese, iodine, copper, selenium fluoride, and chromium are also important but in very less quantity. While this not it with the list of need for multivitamins and minerals, but these are the most important ones. The required quantities of these substances on a daily basis are very less but critical for the functions listed above. Some of these minerals help in releasing free radicals, that provides protection against chronic inflammation and cancer. It helps in preventing chronic health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.
