What Is Lymphoma?
Lymphoma is a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is a network of vessels and organs that help the body fight infection. It includes the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus gland, and bone marrow.
In lymphoma, the cells in the lymphatic system grow abnormally and divide uncontrollably. These abnormal cells can form tumors in the lymph nodes or other parts of the body.

Journey To India
Our team took over the case and arranged for Monam’s arrival and treatment in India. Monam was admitted to Fortis Memorial Research Institute(FMRI), Gurugram, and was under Dr. Rahul Bhargava, Principal Director & Chief – of Haematology, Haemato Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant, FMRI.
After looking at his reports and conducting more tests, oncologists suggested he undergo BMT due to the malignant nature of his cancer.
Dr. Rahul Bhargav’s comments on Monam’s condition:
“Mr. Md. Monam is a case of T-cell ALL (T-acute lymphoblastic leukemia). He was given chemotherapy at other centers. The reason for taking up BMT was that the MRD (Minimal Residual Disease) was positive. His MRD was positive three times before chemotherapy which became negative after the treatment. So, we decided to go for a half-match transplant (parents as donors). In such cases, the survival rate is less than 10% without transplants at ten years. With a 70-80% success rate, BMT will give him a second chance at life.“

Did Treatment in India Help Monam?
Yes!
Monam underwent a successful haplo bone marrow transplant in india. He was all smiles while getting discharged. This transplant had given him a second shot at life. He was grateful to the hospital staff and our team for caring for him and ensuring he got the best possible treatment.
Monam may face some difficulty for the first three months as the body will take its own time to adjust. He will have to be extra careful and look for any signs of rejection or infection.
“It was fulfilling to see Monam smile, knowing that he can live on and continue chasing his ambitions.”, said our representative.
Our team made sure that the treatment was seamless and affordable for him. We provided Monam with the best treatment package. Our representative was constantly with Mr. Monam, overseeing all the logistics.
Takeaway
According to Dr. Bhargav, a Bone marrow transplant, if done early, can increase a patient’s survival by 80%. One needs to pick up signs like positive MRD and high-risk mutations so that the patient can live a normal, healthy, and long life.
