Monitoring of blood sugar levels before a meal and after waking up:

 

  • 4 to 7mmol/l

Monitoring after meals:

  • 5 to 9mmol/l

 

Ideal Range- Adults with Type 1 diabetes

 

Before meals and after waking up:

  • 5 to 7mmol/l

Preceding to meals  at other times of the day:

  • 4 to 7mmol/l

 

Ideal range- Type 2 when monitoring of blood sugar levels

 

Preceding to meals:

  • 4 to 7mmol/l

Succeding to meals after 2 hours

  • Less than 8.5mmol/l

 

Ideal range- Gestational diabetes

 

  • For Fasting, it should be below 5.3mmol/l.
  • After meals with the 1-hour gap, it should be below 7.8mmol/l.
  • In reference to the above, in case of any delay, checking after 2 hours you need to aim for below 6.4mmol/l.
