Air pollution that comes from harmful gases, smoke, smog, dust, etc. has serious effects on your health. The effects can range from simple symptoms like sneezing, coughing, skin or respiratory allergy to acute diseases like asthma, heart disease, lung disease, nerve damage, chronic skin disease, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer.

A physical, biological (natural) or chemical changes to the air in the atmosphere is known as pollution. It occurs when any harmful gases, smoke, and dust enters the atmosphere and makes it difficult for plants, humans, and animals to survive as the air becomes dirty.

Air pollution can be classified into two sections including visible air pollution and invisible air pollution. Another way of looking at air pollution could be any substance that has hinder the atmosphere or the well being of the living beings surviving in the atmosphere.

Global warming is the biggest threat and challenges which is due to the increased imbalance of gases in the atmosphere and further effects the survival of living things on the planet Earth.

Here’s how you can mitigate the effects of air pollution from your body:

1. Hydrate 

Water is the best source of eliminating toxins from your body. A normal adult should intake at least 3-4 liters of water in a day for the body to eliminate these toxins. Water contains minerals and also helps boost up the immunity. If you do not drink water daily, it may lead to severe kidney-related diseases.

2. Turmeric

Turmeric is a perfect antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent. Regular intake of turmeric even helps prevent cancer. Turmeric also detoxifies body organs like liver, kidney, intestines, lungs, skin, etc. by removing impurities from the blood accumulated due to air pollution.

3. Broccoli Sprouts

Broccoli sprouts are an extremely high source of glucoraphanin, which produces sulforaphane. Both glucoraphanin and sulforaphane help accelerate the ability of your body to detoxify from various harmful pollutants.

4. Yoga

Regular exercise or yoga can help reduce the effect of air pollution for your body. Yoga and other physical exercises like brisk-walking, deep-breathing exercise, cycling, aerobics, etc. can help outweigh the harmful effects of pollutants that you breadth in. They increase the levels of oxygen, hemoglobin and red blood cells in your body and decrease blockages in heart and asthma caused by air pollutants.

5. Anti-Oxidant Fruits and Vegetables 

There are various natural foods that could possibly reduce air pollution effects from your body. Regular intake of these vegetables can detoxify your body and add essential vitamins and minerals that in turn can provide immunity from harmful air pollutants. These include onion, beetroot, basil, ginger, garlic, lemon, apple, and Coriander.
