National Pollution Control Day 2018

 

The National Pollution Control Day is celebrated on 2nd of December every year in India to give the honor and memorialize the thousands of peoples who had lost their lives because of the Bhopal gas calamity. Bhopal gas tragedy happened in the night of 2nd and 3rd December in the year 1984 because of the accidental discharge of the poisonous solution (chemical) known as Methyl Isocyanate (also called MIC), some other chemicals also released from the Union Carbide Chemical Plant situated in the city.

 

 

Objectives of the National Pollution Control Day 2018:

 

Following are some of the main objectives of the National Pollution Control Day 2018 including;

 

  • To spread awareness of controlling and managing industrial disasters.

 

  • To prevent the pollution produced by industries or human oversight.
