  • Simple nonalcoholic fatty liver

 

In this condition, you have fat in your liver but may not have any inflammation in the liver or damage to liver cells. The condition usually doesn’t get worse or cause problems with your liver.

 

  • Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH)

 

When the accumulated excess fat is accompanied by inflammation in the liver, a condition, we call Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. Untreated NASH can lead to scarring of the liver. In the worst case, can cause cirrhosis and liver failure

  • Acute fatty liver of pregnancy (AFLP)

 

This rare condition is a serious complication of pregnancy, where the exact cause is unknown. Acute fatty liver of pregnancy usually appears in the third trimester of pregnancy. It can cause serious health risks to both mother and baby if left untreated.

 

 

Alcoholic fatty liver disease (AFLD)

 

I think you know alcohol can damage the liver and the damage leads to improper functioning of the liver. As a result, causes the build-up of fat, which is known as alcoholic fatty liver. Below-mentioned are the types of fatty liver under the category of alcoholic fatty liver disease.

 

 

  • Simple AFLD

 

As for simple alcoholic fatty liver diseases AFLD, there is no inflammation or complications accompanying the build-up fat.

 

 

  • Alcoholic steatohepatitis (ASH)

 

This condition is also known as alcoholic hepatitis. A build-up of excess fat in the liver along with liver inflammation is known as ASH.  It can cause scarring of your liver (cirrhosis) which also leads to liver failure if left untreated.
