3) Manic Or Say Bipolar Depression

 

You must have heard about this under types of depression. In order to be diagnosed with bipolar I disorder, you have to experience an episode of mania that lasts for seven days, or less if hospitalization is required. You may experience a depressive episode before or following the manic episode.

 

The next set of types of depression will deal with those that are only centric to women in general. Here are those:

 

4) PMDD

 

This type of depression is a severe form of premenstrual syndrome or PMS. Symptoms of PMDD usually begin shortly after ovulation and end once menstruation starts.

 

5) Perinatal depression

 

This type of depression includes some very serious or mild episodes of depression that occur during pregnancy or in the first 12 months after delivery. Perinatal depression affects up to one in seven women who give birth and can have devastating effects on the women, their infants, and their families. Treatment includes counseling and medication.

 

These two mentioned types of depression usually occur in women. It is therefore centric to the females.
