About 80,000 Global Coronavirus Cases, No need to Panic says WHO

The cases of COVID19 (or coronavirus) has now risen to 82,000 across 33 countries. There is no need for panic over the situation of coronavirus cases, said Hans Kluge, Europe Director at World Health Organization.

In a news conference in Rome- “There is indeed no need for panic,” he said, additionally the mortality rate is about 2% and now 1% in China. Where China has 96.5% of global cases.

 

Kluge statement, “Bear in mind that four out of five patients have mild symptoms and recover.”

  • The death trolls rose to 2,800 deaths- globally.

 

  • On Feb. 27, 2020- Indian nationals and foreigners were brought to India by an Air India aircraft from Wuhan- the epicenter of the outbreak. There were 112 people that includes 76 Indian, 23 Bangladeshi, 6 Chinese, 2 each from Myanmar and the Maldives,1 citizen of South Africa, US and Madagascar.

 

  • WHO said in a tweet, “If you are not in an area where COVID19 is spreading, or if you have not traveled from one of those areas or have not been in close contact with someone who has & is feeling unwell, your chances of getting it are currently low.”
